During the last year, Jay-Be strengthened its total product offering while primarily focusing on developing the UK market, increasing production capacity and rolling out new products with a commitment to sustainability at the forefront of their product development strategy.

While export sales have declined slightly, strong footholds have been established in major export markets, particularly in Canada and the USA, which the company expects to see significant growth from in the near future.

“It’s been a really exciting year for Jay-Be with lots of new developments and increasing sales for the 11th year in a row is a result we’re really proud of. We’re extremely grateful to our customers who continue to support us and for the fantastic team we have, who work extremely hard to deliver what our customers ask for.”

– Roger Durrans, Managing Director

The business will continue to invest heavily in sustainability, product innovation and responsible manufacturing. Jay-Be is committed to lowering its carbon footprint, sourcing the latest sustainable materials and ensuring that all of their products are designed with recyclability in mind.

“During the last year, especially since the David Attenborough Blue Planet series, the consumer has become increasingly aware of how different products impact the environment. Sustainability is something we have always been passionate about at Jay-Be and we are continually investing and innovating in order to lower our carbon footprint.

 – Liona Ripley, Commercial Director

As well as continuing to invest in product and manufacturing development, the company has also increased investment in training and growing its apprenticeship scheme.

“Jay-Be has a very diverse range of manufacturing capabilities which creates a wide variety of job opportunities. We’re extremely proud to make all our mattresses, upholstery and metal beds in the UK and we’re committed to investing in people. There is no limit in our company as to how far a dedicated individual can go”.

 – Leanne Scargill, HR Manager

The board is delighted to round off the year, having been awarded the Manufacturing Guild Mark from The Furniture Makers’ Company. Jay-Be is one of only 19 companies to have been awarded this prestigious accolade.
